The
Breathing Book by Donna Fahri
|
An extraordinarily helpful and useful book
which provides tools for identifying where and how you limit your breath,
as well as stretches, exercises and inquiries for opening to your natural
breath.
The author does include instruction in the
classic techniques of pranayama or breath control, but she emphasizes that
the prior work, which she gives in great detail, is far more important to
do first. Her main thesis is that we must discover our "essential
breath, a conscious flow that arises out of the depth of our being and
dissolves effortlessly back into our core." By recovering this
'essential breath' which was so natural to us in our youth, we recover the
health, vitality and ease that comes with the fullness of the breath.
This book is essential for anyone who wants
to explore using the breath as a means for relaxation and inner
transformation!

I
Am That by Swami Muktananda
|
This small book is an indispensible gem
from one of the great meditation masters of this century. In simple and
powerful terms, he explores the classic meditation technique of focusing
on the breath, particularly the pause between breaths, as the means to
experience your own inner peace and divinity.
The book is based on his own experience of
this practice, and communicates that experience in a way that makes it
immediately accessible to you. You will read it -- and practice it --
again and again with tremendous gratitude for the knowledge that he
shares. |
